FAQs for Butterflies

【Butterflies】

The life-cycle of a typical butterfly is provided as the following: eggs → larvae → pupa → adults,
which can be considered as a good example of holometabolism (or complete metamorphosis) in the natural world.
A butterfly has a swollen end to each of its two tentacles which shapes like a pair of drumsticks.
In addition, it also has arthropod mouthparts that are commonly known as siphoning mouthparts which shape like a straw when in use and a mosquito coil when not in use.

So what are the functions of butterfly scales on their wings?   For waterproof, protection, warning, and courtship.

◆ Make sure not to catch any butterflies you see in the garden so that their scales won't fall off and lose their functions.
